Saving Energy in the Work Environment

Want to learn how to save energy in the work place? Check out the following tips.

  • Purchase energy efficient office equipment (Energy Star) since they use less energy than standard office equipment
  • Don't leave computers on standby mode because they continue to use up to 70% of normal power consumption at no use
  • Only power on the computer, monitor, printer, and fax machine when you need them
  • Computers still use energy in sleep mode
  • Avoid electric and battery operated office tools (electric staplers, electric pencil sharpeners, etc.)
  • Buy quality and durable office products (e.g. pencils made from recycled material or wood from sustainably managed forestry)
  • Do not use personal heaters; they are inefficient
